The Inter-Medical Physiology Quiz-2019, Nepal (IMSPQ-2019, Nepal) held on 11th Oct, 2019 at Nepal Medical College (NMC) to celebrate “Physiology Friday”. With commensurate prop up from Physiological Society of Nepal (PSN) and The Physiological Society, UK; the event cherished the active involvement of nine medical colleges (18 teams).
The interest generated by the “Physiology Quiz 2018, Nepal”, had been intriguing to medical faculties and medical students. The winners got the international editions of “Guyton and Hall Text Book of Medical Physiology, Ganong’s Review of Medical Physiology”. Prof. Dr John E Hall and Prof Dr Kim E Barrett provided those books. Moreover, the winner also received congratulatory letter from Dr Hall. To make the event (IMSPQ-2018) more exciting, cash prizes of $ 200, $150, and $100 were also included in 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions.
This time, IMSPQ-2019, Nepal offered cash prizes of $150, $90 and $60 to 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. The host institute, Nepal Medical College, felicitated the first, second and third winners with medals. As before Prof Dr Kim E Barrett, the leading author of Ganong’s Review of Medical Physiology will be sending congratulatory letters and international edition of Ganong’s Medical Physiology books to the winners, that is, from NAIHS.
This event aims to break down the barriers between the faculties and students, which is still prevailing in our society (country) and thereby establish conducible environment to exchange knowledge among stakeholders. Furthermore, we believe this type of educational event helps students to explore innovative idea to learn their subject in most effectively and fosters to establish good rapport with their colleague and scientific world.
