Department of Pediatrics
Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric services were initiated with the commencement of Nepal Medical college teaching hospital. Currently, a 75 bedded dedicated Pediatric Ward with cubicles and isolation unit, a 10 bedded Pediatric Intensive care Unit and a 15 bedded Neonatal Intensive care unit, provides a comprehensive health care from birth to 16 years. The department has expanded its role from just therapeutic to preventive, social and educational aspects of child health.
Realizing the need of super-specialty care in pediatrics in Nepal, our department has encouraged the faculty doctors into developing dedicated teams and obtaining fellowship training for the better care of the patients.
